Upper Michigan Today learns dry eye solutions from Superior Eye Health and Vision Therapy Center

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) – On Friday’s episode of Upper Michigan Today, John Redfield and Audrey Stetson saw clearer than ever new solutions to dry eyes.

Superior Eye Health and Vision Therapy Center took John and Audrey in to learn all about a pre-existing technology used in dermatology now broadening its reach to also include eye health and care. The eye health team demonstrated one of these solutions on John to improve his own eye’s dry tendencies.

But first, John and Audrey heard from Dr. Stephen Herman on what’s going on behind the eyelids and why people get dry eyes in the first place.

The show wrapped with conversation surrounding the importance of nutrition and sunscreen for eye health. For all who spend much of the day staring at screens, Dr. Herman encouraged practicing the 20-20-20 method: taking a 20-second break every 20 minutes to look at something 20 feet away. He said it goes a long way in preventing digital eye strain.
